AA's Efficacy
As stated in the “Foreword to the Second Edition,” of Alcoholics Anonymous, published in 1955, “Of alcoholics who came to A.A. and really tried, 50% got sober at once and remained that way; 25% sobered up after some relapses…” Today the number is estimated at approximately 30% (and some dispute that figure as being too generous).
